The primary objective of the position is to provide the Research Analyst with in-depth exposure to an array of disciplines, including affordable housing, active transportation, sustainability, economic development, workforce development and real estate. The analyst will work with our team to demonstrate that a thoughtful and strategic interdisciplinary approach will create strong, healthy, and sustainable communities.
- Perform research and analyze data
- Draft memos, reports, and other client-related work product
- Work closely with project managers to ensure projects’ scope, budget, and direction are on schedule, and to manage client requests
- Track local, state, and national policy issues and news
- Plan and execute meetings, webinars and conference calls
- Administrative tasks, as needed
$18-20/hour depending on education and experience
16 – 24 hours/week (part-time); 40 hours/week (full-time)
Candidate must have work experience or education in one or more of the following:
- Urban Planning
- Real Estate and Land Use Law
- Housing & Homelessness Policy
- Economic Development
- Environmental Policy
- Sustainable Development
- Public Policy
- Transportation Planning and Active Transportation Planning
Master’s Degree Candidate in any of these fields is strongly preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet research. Experience with Adobe InDesign, project management, database analysis, and web development software (WordPress, Squarespace) are a plus.
The ideal candidate will possess a desire for real world experience and knowledge in the fields of urban planning, equitable economic development, sustainability, active transportation, housing, and/or real estate development. Ideal candidates will have some knowledge of these principles, and some experience in project management. Exceptional inter-personal and written communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, superb attention-to-detail, and the ability to assist with multiple tasks simultaneously will be crucial to the candidate’s success in this position.
